Leaving for Fort Myers, FL

I am heading to Fort Myers with the wife this Saturday for a week to visit some family of hers down there. We are going to Tampa/Boston spring training game on Sunday and probably playing some golf. Other than that, does anyone know of anything else around there that is fun? Any casinos? Good restaurants/bars? Sights to see?

I lived down there for many years and my parents are still down there. Good golf and the beach is great. Make sure to head out to Sanibel/Captiva for one day and eat out in Captiva (maybe the Bubble room). Not any gambling except the greyhound track in Bonita. They do have a card room. I love watching the pups. I used to go down with my wife on many Friday nights for some beers. Traffic is horrendous so be prepared. Not much else to do in my opinion.

I've got a place down there by Edison College...Will down there in a month w/ the wife and kids...

Good restaurants...Bonefish.Carobbas (sp),Big Al's. University Grill, Prawn Broker just a ton of really good places...w/ reasonable prices

Two Bars we like...Budha Bar and Shoe less Joe's (also a good place to eat)

The Big M...is a gambling boat..thats OK..

Golf everywhere..

If you go to the Beach be prepare for TRAFFIC and CROWDS (like someone said above)...the ladies are sure nice to look at though...

You seriously have to try BoneFish...it's off the Chart good...

Bonita is 20 mins from Ft Myers. Just take I75 south and it is between FTM and Naples. Exit Bonita Beach road and go right. Forgot about spring break..you have to hit the beach. Get there early bring a few drinks and enjoy. yahtzee.

CP- Bonefish is a chain owned by Outback. They don't have one where you are?? I am surpised if they don't. They are in most major cities and even small ones.

I can not tell you the memories that envoked..Spring break 85,86,87,88,89,90...Truly unreal. A very sad note about the beach in FT Myers. My friend told me The Bridge closed. I was truly shocked. That place rocked.

I know the place for you. Go to The Cottage (almost next door to the Lani Kai.) Get there when they open claim a picnic table. They are right on the beach. Awesome Rum runners and you MUST try the Beach Bread. best thing ever!! I gurantee

I have eaten at a fishbones...is that the same thing? That picture of the beach is pretty unreal. Should be a good time. Thanks for all the info guys.

The Cottage is a must to visit the Beach. Great view, food, booze and umbrellas to cover you and your wife's white ass...LOL...sorry had too

also a couple of good local places I used to love. in the same plaza. Greek and Japanese. Affordable and casual
