I got to get a job so I can rest

Man I'm tired. Since I was let go from my job I have been working on the house like crazy. I work harder now than I did at work. This week I started by ripping out my main floor bathroom. Its the last part of the house that has not been worked on. Doing all the work myself (plumbing & electrical) will save me 100's.

I enjoy it but damn I need to get back to work.
On that note there are no jobs in Michigan right now. Poker might be the only way. I need to finish the house so I can get an apraisel so I can refinance it.

Glad to see you are keeping busy....

I know absolutely nothing about home repairs, but if you are only saving $100s, then I'd say do some less strenuous work and just pay someone to do it. Sounds like the time spent to save $100s isn't worth it. If you enjoy doing it then nevermind, it is a "hobby", but if you are as tired as you sound....get a crap job, you will easily cover these $100s and more....for less work.

No its so worth it to do yourself. To hire a plumber or an electrician will cost the big bucks..

I have already done done everything else and this is the last major project.

The only thing I am going to hire out is to finish all the drywall I put up. I want that to be perfect. Last thing I want is to have it all painted and see all the seems.

There are no jobs here in Michigan. The lib Gov has done a great job of chasing away businesses

I was born and stuck here....Im trying to transfer though....gotta find one sucker to swap job positions with me in Las Vegas.....Im hoping someone has family here or something to swap me......the only thing I will say about here is it IS the greatest sports town in America....and its not even close...I have been to lots of major cities.....its not even close....but even that cant keep me here....it is a toilet....I admit it....

On a side note Rightside, I know you think I'm a dick, and the feeling is more than mutual.

However, you seem pretty skilled at poker. If a person has any kind of skill and patience, there's no way they can't grind out $70-$90 a day playing the $20 Double or Nothings at pokerstars without having to dedicate more than a few hours each day. Not a ton of money, but even $1500 a month hidden from Obama or whoever you're mad at should come in handy.

For a lot of people it isn't. But if your savings were running out and no prospects presented themselves, you'd never consider it?

For some, keeping the lights on and staying fed during an economic downturn is a priority.
