Ok boys, when do you try for a middle?

More on totals or side....or does it matter?

EX: I have MIA HEAT PK right now pretty big...I'm comfortable with their lead and still confident at halftime but could try and middle...

It seems stupid but no bet is safe at halftime and you possibly have the chance to hit both MIA and TOR 2nd H for a large payoff with little risk but then you put the good standing MIA on the table...

opinions?

Well halftimes are the way to go when middling, and I mainly do it on totals myself if & when I do.

What did you have Miami at for the game, -1?

They are up 6, halftime line is Toronto -1.5, so that only gives you a 2 point middle?
That's not really much.
I like the gap to be bigger, but hey, when you have a good chance to double your bet on the night at really no risk (except juice), it's a good feeling when you hit or you covered your azz because your original wager ended up losing.

Not much.......plus it all depends a lot on how you think the 1st half really played out on how both teams shot, foul situations, and if either team heated up just before halftime.....

Still though, 2 points isn't much imo....

Going to let it ride, I figure...If I liked it before the game...Why don't I like it when they are up 6 at HT.

Go heat.

winning is hard enough besides getting involved further, middling and hedgeing is the cream of the pot for Bookmakers. They can offer bets well in their favour knowing the bettors dont even consider any value in their endeavour to being smart.

Probably more important is the psychological effect these bets have on the Punter," I should have, could have" next time I will, wont etc etc. It ends up fucking up your initial plan, betting a winner. A end of the day, hedgeing or middling is just another bet that should be played on its own merits, regardless of early bets. :drink:

Very well said winbet, but in the NBA, there's times when you have opportunities at even 20 point middles on halftime totals!

Your point is valid but there are different scenarios.
For example, if you played an under 200 for example with 2 basic teams, and they score 90 in the 1st half, no doubt, you have to let it ride.

But if you have 2 teams like Indiana & Phoenix and they only put up 100 in a 226 point total that you played the under on, and the 2nd half line is 108, you almost have to take that 2nd half over, especially with an 17-18 pt middle and if the 2 teams shot poorly in the 1st half. Like I mentioned further above, there are different factors involved.

But, in general and on average, your advice is dead on & most plays should be left alone ......:toast:

All these so called smart moves are fine as long as you can handle the psychological side of things when it goes unbelieveably against you. Gambling is fraught with situations that defy logic, so my point is when you finally get yourself in a winning position, why would you want to jepordise that takingf what normally on its own merit, a bad bet. :drink:
