We have this every year here, thought I would start it off.

Little background first.... I do about 50 or so brackets each year. There are somes good dos and donts that you pick up as you do a lot of brackets. I'll try and post some of the things that work for me and some general things that you will just want to copy if you want any shot at winning your pool.

But first lets start the list off. Please no forums on this list, just sportsbooks, contest sites, random contests etc. (I will be adding to this list all the way up to next week.) Please add your own. Mods feel free to edit this thread/post in any way you want.

www.espn.go.com (usually a couple)
www.yahoo.com (usually a couple)
www.sportsline.com
www.TheRX.com (Check the contest section)
www.PlanetContest.com
www.coorslight.com
www.bracketcontest.com
www.foxsports.com
www.isportslinks.com
www.sportsco.com
www.kjr950.com (Seattle radio station)
-most newspapers (just make sure you are not doing the same one as some newspapers do it together with other newspapers)
-Most radio stations and some tv stations
-local golf course, bar, fav hangout.... (they might have something if you ask.

This is just the bare skin and bones of what this thread will have to offer..... I thank anyone that contributes. I will be adding more over the next week.

CBS Sports Online Bracket Challenge. $10.000.00 payout to the winner. What is cool about CBS Sports Bracket Challenge is you can update your bracket after each round and is based on a points system. You have to register and get ID name from CBS Sports on the website, but it pretty self explainatory. Don't know if your chances of winning are that great because you are competing with everyone and their brother across the USA, but a shot at a $10.000 winning prize justify the small amount of time it takes to complete the bracket online. Good Luck.

I think that CBS will have one where you can edit your bracket and one where you cannot. maybe I am wrong. I'll try and find some others like that for you.

The contest I am refering to, if it was the same way it was last year, is the one where the player can update. By update I mean edit. For instance if you choose Davidson over kentucky and Davidson lost, your bracket could be edited to show the Kentucky win, but you would not be awarded the contest points for that game. You would however be able to play Kentucky in the following game. I think it is designed to preventing you from losing that ONE GAME and being SOL for the rest of that bracket.

looking at the fine print for the $10,000 cbs entry, they take the top 10% and choose the grand prize winner by random drawing....so you could do the best and still not win dick because 20,000 people finished in the top 10% and your odds of winning that drawing are probably worse than having the best bracket to begin with....says nothing about 2nd prize on down....

Couple March Madness Hints You Should Follow:

* Move 1s and 2s 2 rounds pretty much automatically
* 9s beat 8s more often
*Pay attention to the teams and conferences that might have a chip on their shoulder or something to prove
*12s beat 5s almost 50% of the time, and because most people take the 5 seeds, 12s often have good value.
* When entering a contest that centers in a specific region (i.e. a newspaper contest in LA) pick against the teams from that area or that that area might identify with.
*Most of the time picking the overall winner is half of winning a bracket contest, no matter the size of your pool you will probably not win if your Champion does not cut down the nets

I'll have more, and anything people can add will help!!!

actually, 5 seeds are 65-31....it just seems like 12 seeds always win...in the 2nd round, both 5 and 12 seeds fare pretty well, with 5 seeds holding a 35-30 record when playing in the 2nd round, where 12 seeds are 16-15...

cbs is an excellent site to use, easy to look up every game of the tourney from previous years, you just got to have some time on your hands. another intersting stat i found was that the winner of the 7/10 matchup goes like this in the 2nd round: 7 seeds are 18-42, while the 10 seed is 18-18....
