Has your NFL been aggressive enough in trying to obtain players & needs, signed a bunch of bums, or have simply sat back & padded their bankroll by finishing millions under the cap again.......^<<^

Tampa Bay fan here. Very pissed about pretty much doing nothing to help the team. The big signing: Derrick Ward. A 29 year old running back. And they are 60 million under the cap. There was quality d-line and line backers in free agency and tampa got none of them. The other big move: giving up a 2nd and 5th round picks for a tight end that never shuts the fuck up and is hurt all the time.

According to Lovie Smith, the Bears signed the best FA out there - Rod Marinelli. Ouch.

Very happy with the Boley, Bernard and Canty signings. The CC Brown and James Butler signing was great for depth in the defensive backfield. Defense is definitely set.

I was kinda concerned that they didnt go for a FA WR just in case Plax doesn't work out but it looks like they will go for one in the draft (Hicks/Hey-Bey; etc).

If Ward stays healthy, you should be happy with him Easy. I was upset to see him go but he was definitely the odd man out in the RB rotation here.

The WR from NC would be perfect for the Giants.

Yeah Hicks is a monster but I guess my heart wants Hey-Bey to go to Jints because hes a U-Md product.

More than likely, Reese will go best player available 1st round and take a WR with one of their two 2nd rounders.

I would like to see Pierce go since hes getting a tad bit slow in the MLB position.

Ya I don't mind Ward but I wanted all the guys that your team got. D-line and LB's are probably the biggest weakness on Tampa and we let you guys get Boley, Bernard and Canty. Now it almost forces us to go D-Line in the 1st round and I was hoping for one of the WR's in the 1st. My biggest problem with the Bucs is that they have like 65 million to play with and didn't really go after anybody big. Ya they got Winslow who if he stays heathly and shuts his mouth could be very good, but they still over paid for him.

So whats up with the culture there in TB? I mean do players like playing there? I heard that Haynesworth was offered more to go to TB but still went to Washington anyway.

I read that Canty's price was kinda high and a lot of teams was very cool on him because of that. Plus he was in a 3-4 which his skill set may not convert well to a 4-3.

There was an interesting article on how his agent put out feelers on teams that may be interested in him and the Giants was actually 9th on Canty's list (check out this link http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/peter_king/03/01/freeagency/index.html ) so sometimes its better to be lucky than good.

I think some of the guys didn't like playing for Guden, but now that he's gone I can't see why players wouldn't like playing in Tampa Bay. I heard that one of the reasons Haynesworth chose Washington is because Tampa cut alot of the older verterns and Haynesworth actually wanted to play with vets that were around his age. I wonder how he felt when they cut Jason Taylor a couple days after he signed.

I really don't have a clue what Tampa is trying to do these days. Thats my problem. It doesn't seem like they are even trying to win anymore. I mean they have more money to spend than any team in the NFL and have done very little this offseason. And the few contracts they have signed I feel they overpaid for. And I realize the ecomomy sucks but these guys shouldn't be feeling the hurt that much to make them not want to spend any money. Malcom Glazer who owns the team is reportedly the 2nd or 3rd richest owner in the entire NFL, and also owns Manchester United.

There Is NO Team That Has Done Less Than

My Vikes. So they got Sage BFD! Need OL, QB, WR, DB. They have done nothing, then the asshole jew owner Itzy Gotkin comes out and says "we spent too much LY" so this yr it's just FU Viking fans. After watching this tm for 40+ yrs, I'm about to give up. Move the bastards to LA, then we won't have to worry about blackouts at least. And no I can't go to the games anymore. I used to see every one when I was younger and in better shape. :>(

I completely agree. Our Defense is now stacked with the new additions. The second string D line are all players who would start anywhere else. You're right, all we need is a big time wr. We'll see what happens with the Plax situation and in the draft.

Patriots: The Julius Peppers deal would be the icing on the cake.

New England Patriots:

They have gone their typical low-cost, high-reward route, picking up running back Fred Taylor (two years, $5 million) and tight end Chris Baker (two years, $5.3 million, with an option bonus due in 2011 that could make it a five-year, $14.4 million deal) and shoring up the secondary with the additions of cornerbacks Shawn Springs (three years, $10.5 million, with incentives that could push it to $13 million) and Leigh Bodden, who at one year and $2.25 million is a potential Pro Bowl bargain. They also retained safety James Sanders with a modest three-year, $9 million deal.

The Patriots also announced that they re-signed offensive lineman Wesley Britt and safeties Tank Williams and Ray Ventrone. Williams missed all of last season after he suffered a knee injury in the first exhibition game . . . The Patriots made official the re-signing of defensive lineman Mike Wright.

Coach Belichek and company may not be finished even if they can complete a very doable deal for Julius Pepppers.

Patriots' offseason moves
Acquired officially:
TE Chris Baker
LB Tully Banta-Cain
CB Leigh Bodden
WR Joey Galloway
LS Nathan Hodel
C Al Johnson
WR Greg Lewis
CB Shawn Springs
RB Fred Taylor

Retained officially:

OT Wesley Britt
P Chris Hanson
G Russ Hochstein
S James Sanders
S Ray Ventrone

DL Mike Wright

Departed officially:
