I am playing in a charity golf scramble this afternoon and I get a text from my wife saying call me asap ( I never get this). I call and she says:
Her and my two kids (6 & 8) are biking on a path around a huge retention pond here in town. They go around the circle the first time and there was an older man (60 ish) sitting on a park bench. My daughter says mommy he looks sad. They continue around the loop and stop at the car for a drink of water. They start around the path again and my daughter is driving ahead when my wife notices that the man is lying on the ground. She yells at my daughter to stop and she does. My wife runs ahead of her and this guy had shot himself in the head and blew away most of his face. Oh my god!!! He actually stood up and faced my family as they were approaching. My wife had her a pop but never thought it was a gun shot. My kids did not see the scene but sensed what happened. Tons of cops came etc etc. He apparently left a note as well.
How weird is this?? My wife expectedly is a little un-nerved and my daughter just fell asleep saying she did not feel well. I guess we will have to keep an eye out for any weird behaviors. Part of me feels bad and part of me thinks he is a gutless piece of shit. To stand up and move and make sure he was in the path of my kids was unexplainable and disturbing..
