Venezuela -125
Korea -115

Considering how much hype there is surrounding this Venezuela team, I'm surprised they're not a heavier favorite. Then again, I also thought Japan was a definite favorite against USA, yet they're the underdog according to the lines.

That said, all the experts seem to be taking Venezuela. Nobody is giving Korea much of a shot. I've seen Korea play against a few teams, but not enough good teams. The only good team that Korea has played, is Japan, which I consider the WBC favorite. I'm not sure how Korea matches up with the other top teams. Against China, Mexico, and Taiwan, they just blew 'em out.

Tough one... I'll be cheering for Korea, but I get a feeling Venezuela takes this.

Prediction... Venezuela 4-2

I think Korea and Japan will feel at home on the West coast, and I like the Asian team here too.

Korea beat Japan twice. They lost the first meeting against Japan since their starter had a horrible outing and they lost the 4th game versus Japan because they didn't give a sh** about that game. Besides that, they dominated their weaker opponents and have one of the best and deepest pitching staffs of the WBC.
If Felix Hernandez or even Gallaraga would have started tonight, Venezuela would be in a much better shape, but Silva was hit pretty good by a below-average Italian team and his ERA is way lower than it should be.

In my opinion the wrong team is favored tonight.
