also, Scoscia was quoted in the La Times recently saying that he wants to win the cactus league title. who knew they actually was a trophy for winning spring training games. i like his approach though; setting a nice tone and mentality for the regular season

I just took the Angels Under 88.5 wins for the season. With Lackey hurting, Santana out a month+, Fuentes showing a drop in velocity, and an aging offense (somewhat), I think they will struggle to get over .500. I think they do get over .500, but 82-85 wins is more likely, imo.

I think the A's will compete and I think the Rangers will surprise people this year. Their offense is off the hook and I think Millwood, Padilla and Co can keep them in more games than they did last year. All this, and I think the Angels take a step back this year, but still are in the division race until the end of the season.

Congrats on the following the 21-4 and record this spring, that is money in the bank.

Shane Loux v. Dan Haren

From MLB.com:
It might not be his last shot at the brass ring, so to speak, but he knows he's at a point where he doesn't want to miss any more opportunities.

At 29, Loux is no kid. He burns to pitch in the Major Leagues, and he's closer to making that a reality than he could have imagined when he was out of the game in 2007, working with kids at a facility near his home in Gilbert, Ariz.

Loux will go to the mound on Friday in Tucson, facing the D-backs. He's looking to get in the 90-pitch range, which would keep him on schedule for an opening week assignment in an Angels rotation that has grown more fluid and unpredictable by the day. In four Cactus League outings, Loux has yielded one earned run across 10 2/3 innings for a 0.84 ERA. He has surrendered 11 hits and three walks while striking out seven hitters. On several occasions, he has pulled himself out of trouble by inducing double-play grounders.

"That's one of my selling points, getting deeper in games," Loux said. "I'm going to get fastballs on the ground. My command has been better lately. My last outing, I didn't walk anybody in five innings. I got up to 75 pitches and felt good."

Arizona is 9-16 in Cactus League play. With an embarrassing 3-9 home record in Tucson. While the Halos are 9-2 on the road. Getting a great value at -120, so I will continue to ride the money train. GL All
