Going there in a couple weeks, I see there are many choices, looking for something reasonably priced(ie..Double Tree...$99 a night)......I'm assuming many of you live close or have been there....thx for the suggestions and reviews!@)

Drive down Colorado Blvd. in the eastern part of Pasadena; there are plenty of cheap motels (Lucky Star, El Rancho, Ace, Astro, Hi-Way Host and Pasada). Definitely a low-rent district but not like a ghetto or a foreign country either. I stayed at the Astro for $55 on the Fri. night of the Breeders' Cup.

Keep going east around the big curve and were Colorado is now running North South about 1.5 miles. You have now left the fucking low rent district and should be right next to the track, on your left is a nice motel. Get a room there and walk across the street to the track. You don't pay for parking. Its quiet and a 1000% improvement in the neighborhood.

Racing starts at 12:30pm The track opens at 8:00 am and its free admission Early bird betting. They clear the track out at 10:30am and close it till 12:30. I like to go to Early Bird and have breakfast at the Clockers Corner, which is at the top of the stretch and watch the workouts. I also talk to the retirees that live at the track. Talk about tips, Jesus talking to those guys is like insider trading.
