Hey all,

First time to Vegas coming up. I'd prefer to stay at a cheaper place, but at the same time don't want to be fightin off the roaches and bed bugs. I just figure use the money saved on the room towards the books and tables. Any help would be great!

It depends on where you want to stay in Vegas ?? Downtown ? Strip ? You don't mind being Off the Strip ?
Just so many Options

You can stay at the Excalibur for like $32 a Night ! during Weekdays
Or the Mirage for about $99

When are You Going ? Weekdays ? or the Weekend ?

What choices are you considering & when are you going?

There are some very good downtown & off-strip
restaurants that are half the price & just as good.

Just got back, the place is a fucking hell hole....wont be going back anytime soon during March Madness. When I first went 10 yrs ago things werent that bad, but let me tell you this. The customer service in that fucking town is at an all time low, couple that with the fact that the quality of air sucks. I have said enough. I dont and wont recommend anywhere to stay.

Let me be the first to plug The El Cortez. It is downtown just outside the Fremont Canopy

The on line rates are about $25-30 per night weekday and $50 or so weekend. Its a little more if you use their reservation service (800 #) This is for the Vintage room. Other rooms are available at a higher cost.
The room is a fair size and clean. The staff is wonderful.

Their sportsbook is connected to Southpoint. Frank is the super there and does a bang up job. Good lines and great customer service.

I stay there regularly and will not hesitate to recomend it to others
