NBC affiliate in Memphis led off local news tonight stating that Bobby Knight is in Memphis interviewing for the vacant job. Also said that Nolan Richardson is interested as well. I kept waiting for an "April Fools" but never got it.

i think "the general" is too old. he was a good fit at IU' but i think his time has passed. dont think his ways would fit w/memphis current players. it would take a few years of recruiting his style players and then some. he,d be closing in on 80 yrs old.

i think he's 68. a little old to start HIS program. he stated interest in the georgia job too a month ago. i think if he asked anyone for an interview he'd get an interview, not necessarly hired.

I agree.

Memphis is still pretty solid next year, whoever takes over.

At least with Nolan Richardson Memphis might have a shot at keeping some of those recruits. The Razorbacks were basically MemphisWest when Nolan was running the show.

Nolan would be ideal for them. Kids want to play for him...Natl Championship under his belt also.

No way Memphis wants Knight (automatic recruiting doorstop). If there is any flame left on the Knight brundown candle , I see it in a East Coast mid Ivy or maybe mid Patriot league.

Is that state big enough for Mens + Woman's All-Time Coaching Wins Leaders? He'll think so.

thats what i was thinking...although i dont think he'll go there....its not his "type" of program.....its too sports oriented and not as much education oriented...he would have to make major changes, not sure he has it in him anymore.....

-education oriented and texas tech have never been in the same sentence. That is one of the easiest (behind Texas State) programs in Texas. Tech is a more smoking-hot-ladies-keg party oriented.

-i'm not sure how memphis is on academics though.
