Ive got a little time this morning and wanted to go ahead and open my thread for MLB 2009.

I am going to put up $8000 to bet baseball with this year. I will be playing with Betjamaica and The Greek online, along with 2 Locals that i have played with for years.

My wagers will be all over the place, from very small to very large. I will be running 3 Chase systems (hopefully all season long). I have a Unit base of $50, so i will be playing to win $50 in each chase...

However i am not going to list the chases individually, i will only be keeping one record this year and a dollar amount, i will not be keeping any record of units..

I suspect most of my wagers will be small ($100 or less), however i should have around 4-5 wagers this season of $2000 each. I will have probably 10-15 for $1000 or more. I am speculating here, so dont hold me to those exact figures.

I have a definite set goal of making $800 per month on baseball wagering this season and im willing to risk the $8000 to do this.

I am going to do very little Handicapping in this thread, as 2 of my systems will be 100% mechanical and the 3rd one will be about half mechanical. So a small amount of handicapping will take place, probably 2 or 3 times each week.

I am not posting this to go tout or create a following. In fact i wouldnt suggest anyone to follow this.. I am going to post to hopefully carry on some conversation during the summer months. I am very active in the markets and thats where i will be spending most of my time but i will try and post in this thread daily or until my money runs out..

Remember

1 Unit = $50 for me
Goal is to make $800 per month (including april)

MLB 2009: 0-0 ($0)

Beginning Bankroll: $8000
Current Bankroll: $8000

Play for sunday april 5

1. Phillies -1.5 (+1.70) $29 to win $50 (greek) Listed must go

Listed pitchers always for me, no action wagers.. I wont be doing a whole lot of line shopping (another thing you shouldnt follow). I also wont be doing pennies in my record keeping, just rounding numbers.

good luck this season, ill be glad to answer any and all questions.

in no particular order..

Play on the biggest moneyline favorite on the board each day but play them on the Runline... Use Opening Line as guide... In the past ive played this but always tried to use the Closing Line but this was very difficult to do, as games start at different times and lines change.

the 2nd one is what i was doing in the NBA and did in baseball last year. fade any teams Over or Under streak, when it reaches exactly 5 games.

the 3rd is what i call an action chase.... ill take a team and look at its next 6 games and chase either an over or an under. i call this the "action chase", because it fills in the time, when there are no plays for the other over or under chase system and that will especially be the case the first couple weeks of the season.

i chase all 3, a max of 6 games, thats why my base Unit is only to win $50. Because i want to be able to go 6 deep with my bets..

i am all set to follow this thru, i have the bankroll allocated and im prepared to pull the trigger. this is a highly agressive and risky way to bet and i would not advise anyone to follow this, unless they have thought it thru and have the plan laid out... if i were to lose my bankroll, my season is over.

i make no bones about it, that this is now merely a side hobby of mine. i am no expert, i am not even going to handicap very much but what i do have is the discipline to follow a detailed plan and i PLAN on taking the books money (especially my Locals)....

more questions?

I followed your over and under system last year in mlb. i started playing after 6 game over and unders. How many games will you chase because last year I beleive there was a couple teams that went on very long streaks that can absolutely kill you for the year. Was planning on chasing 3 games with the over and under system and then call it quits for that chase. Thanks ssi I've followed your systems for a long time

a solid 6 time only chase for me....

RL chase (using opening Lines or as close as i can get this)

O/U Chase (beginning after a 5 game streak only)

action chase (my only handicapped chase)

but im only going to list my wagers and the amount wagered on each play, keeping a running won/loss record, with dollar amount posted...

in this thread, im either going to get my head handed to me and lose $8000 or im going to make a mockery of the time spent handicapping..

i plan on spending, no more than 15 minutes each day on this..

it appears that ill have 1-3 bets each day, with 2 being the most likely.

i hope to show that you can have a detailed, disciplined plan, that works on a Mechanical basis and be able to (for me) win $800 or more each and every month.

whether i win or lose tonight, i like my spot and my line.

my games should be posted by 10:00 am cst (mon-fri) and by 11:00 am cst on saturdays and sundays..

if you were to think about following me, please set aside a bankroll that is disposable and be willing to pull the trigger on the bigger wagers..

Im looking for (Four Plus) wins each week...

Hopefully, you will see how this plays out by the time april is complete, its almost game time..

have a nice season everyone.

SSI...

Always a fan of chase systems assuming you can somehow eliminate long losing streaks, by either limiting chase action or getting something that shows great variability... Either way, I looked into that home sweep theory last year, and came up with the following results (which I THINK are accurate according to my math/research)...

The home team was swept 61 times last year. The idea is to chase the home team after that sweep. In a two game chase following the sweep (chasing home games only, regardless if they go on the road after the sweep...you simply start chasing the next home series)...and I found that a two game chase is simply better than a three.

Series record would have turned out to be 50-11. A $100 chase bettor would have won $5000, and lost about $3000, resulting in +$2000 on the year. If you don't start chasing until May 1st, record is 47-7, resulting in $4700 in winnings and $1700...+$3000 on the year.

You could do an infinite chase, as the worst team eventually won on the 5th game of the chase. You're looking at playing almost $1500+ though to win that $100. Not really worth it to me, which is why I'd recommend sticking to the 2 game chase following a home sweep.

Good Luck with your systems.

Good work so far SSI. Looks like you are missing a play from one of your systems today though. KC has 5 Unders.
