The defending champs will want to put on a good showing for Opening Night, but pitching will be the story tonight...and I just don't think Brett Myers is the answer.

I like Meche starting on the mound today for what should be an improved Royals team. I think the chilly temperature will help to neutralize some of Chicago's big mashers and I just can't put my faith in Buehrle yet due to his shortened Spring Training and his "stiffness" issues.

St. Louis -152
The Cards blew it big time yesterday, but I don't expect the same result today. Pittsburgh's Ian Snell has a ton of potential, but he had some pretty shaky starts against St. Louis last season. On the other side, Kyle Lohse pitched effectively down the stretch last year, giving up no more that 3 earned runs in his last seven starts. I look for him to bring that consistency into today's game...hopefully Jason Motte won't find a way to blow it again.

Atlanta +104
It's tough to go against the defending champs two games in a row in their own home park, but this one comes down to pitching once again. Jair Jurrjens has some great stuff and he pitched well against Philly last season but didn't get the run support he deserved. But this year, I like the look of Atlanta's lineup and think they'll have an opportunity to tee off on the ageless wonder Jamie Moyer.
