For The Season (6-8)(-1.99)

2-3 dropping 1.20 units last night. I won two of three favorite plays, but lost both parlays that I played. I have a losing record so far this year, but I am fine with that. The season is still young and there is still much to learn about these teams and pitchers in 2009.

Going to be a good day today. Just about everything is in the afternoon and I am off work today. Going to do a little gambling and watch a few games. Here is what is on tap for Thursday.

PARLAY RISKING 1 UNIT TO WIN 1.45 UNITS

St Louis over Pittsburgh
Yankees over Baltimore

This is one of those bets that I know is going to lose, yet I put it in anyway. Just don’t see Pittsburgh winning three of four AT St Louis and how can the Yanks get swept to start the season. Big pitching advantage for the Cardinals and Burnett is 7-1 lifetime vs Baltimore.

Minnesota -132 vs Seattle………….Always willing to try the twins at home at this price. Especially since they are going against a washed up Washburn for Seattle. Really like this one and it is probably my best bet of the day, but all my plays are just for one unit.

Cincinnati +104 vs NY Mets………In my eyes, and this is coming from a Phillies fan, the Mets are the team to beat in the NL East this year. Having said that they are going to lose today. They have won the first two at Cincy, but I really think the pitching matchup today greatly favors the Reds. I read where Perez has not looked good this spring and I don’t see the Mets sweeping at what is supposed to be a pretty good and improved Reds team this year.

Texas -115 vs Cleveland………….I don’t think Cleveland is going to be as good as people think this year. I really like those Texas bats, especially at home. Pavano pitching for the tribe and he always seems to have health issuues and has never really lived up to expectations. I like the Rangers at home at this small a price.

Angels -120 vs Oakland…………..I have been fading the A’s so far this year. Most people think this team is going to be the surprise team in the AL this year. I don’t believe it until the prove it. In the meantime why not take the Angels who seem to dominate this division recently at these odds. Weaver is very capable of throwing a gem as well.

Tampa Bay +138 vs Boston…………..Why not? Tampa Bay is every bit as good as Boston. Tampa got a taste of winning last year and that leaves them hungry for more. They are not intimidated playing at Boston either. Sure there is a good chance they will lose facing Matsuzak, but it is worth the shot at +138.

I better stop there. I am tempted to bet every game today since I am off work and have nothing better to do, but I won’t.

Good Luck Everybody!!
