Strasburg, by all accounts the top prospect in the nation, is 6-0 with a 1.49 ERA, and 94 strikeouts in 48 1/3 innings, while walking just 10.

Most scouts are clocking his fastball at about 100 mph.

I still have questions about this guy even though everyone is in love with him. Great fastball and doable breaking ball with excellent command but he'll need to get his changeup much improved to be effective in the majors. I think Andrew Oliver is going to be more effective in the majors. If Strasburg ever gets his change going though he'll be a #1 for sure.

Strasburg struck out four to give him an NL-leading 198 for the season, besting his previous single-season high of 197 in 2012 - the year he was shut down early after returning from elbow surgery. He did just what the Nationals needed him to do: eat up innings to give an overtaxed bullpen some rest.
