The faked looped bird chirping. In case no one has figured this out the bird chirps are on tape loop. They are recorded at Augusta but anyone who thinks there are birds chirping at every hole think again. I noticed this today when early on the birds chirped in the same sequence repeatedly. You may think this is totally crazy but it isn't. The Masters is run like the CIA. Everything is orchestrated and controlled. From what can be shown, when it can be shown to what the announcers are allowed to say. It is all about presentation. It was getting ridiculous when birds were chirping inside Butler Cabin. There are no birds inside Butler Cabin. I actually think Butler is a set built on the Augusta grounds. What's next, an animatromic Bobby Jones.

I thought the big-shots at Augusta didn't control the coverage?

Good point, I picked up on that a couple of years ago, just as bad as canned laughter on sit-coms.
NBC was notorious back in the day when they had the Sunday AFC football package of over amplifing the crowd noise also.

Also, memo to networks, there are like 140 other golfers besides Tiger, it doesn't have to be all Tiger all the time.

That being said, all the announcers are dogs, with the exception of Johnny Miller (who is a god)

agree bill..have you noticed how much more technical the NBC coverage is..swing diagnosis, shot strategy, busting a golfer for a bad shot/decision. CBS is comedy and 4 hours of Tiger ass licking..

And by the way, I love the theatre of Augusta fake birds and all@):)

OK, Tiger is the best there is, probably the best ever. But it makes you puke the way they cover his every dump...yesterday they put up a graphic that read something like... "Four holes ago, Tiger Woods was nine shots behind the leader. Now he's four."
BFD. I do believe that if he misses the cut, CBS won't televise the final two rounds.
That being said, Woods will win it again.

the networks have to kiss woods ass.. otherwise he will shut them out of those interesting interviews he does after every round..

a few years ago , peter kostis made a comment about woods swing , tiger heard about it and told cbs to not have him walk with his group.

feherty walked with woods for quite a while.

i think tiger has just recently started to talk to kostis again.

the way the announcers tip toe around every subject at augusta is comical to me. better say " patrons " , not crowd , not fans , not gallery , not people , not humans ... " PATRONS "

did you catch one of the tee shots by Tiger on 16 where one guy yelled "get in the hole" after he hit it and the announcers said "oh no not at Augusta" I almost barfed..

If Campbell forgets he's one of the best iron shooter in the game.
13 birdies through 29 holes is just sick man.
Guy is playing lights out golf so far.

The music they play whenever there's a commercial or when they show the leader board drives me nuts.
