I have att dsl service at my house and office but am needing something for my computer when away. My att service is not very fast however at my house and Time warner promises me three times the speed for 25.oo more.I figure att or verizon should have the broadband card for approx 50 .00. Just wonder about the speed

I have a broadband card that is very similar to Verizon. The speed is very good, not quite cable fast, but comparable to a high-end DSL. You can even buy routers that let you turn it into a WIFI connection that lets you share it around the house. Its a pretty nifty device

FYI......Verizon Always has a Wireless Card on a Deal for FREE
Just need to pay the Monthly fees ( 29.99-39.99 )

I guess you need to sign a 1 or 2 year contract....even if you current contract isn't up, you can still sign a new one.

Is the speed comparable to DSL. I'm sure it isn't cable fast but at 3mp's, i could stand that.

I use the Verizon on my Laptop....Speed is good, not cable modem fast but fast enough to watch you tube for instance.

Problem is its measured service. You get so many mb's of download a month for the 50 bucks but just like the cell phones if you go OVER your limit your paying prime time cash from then on....Ive found enough hot spots to where i could probably get by without it if i had to but it works when everything else goes down ( like bad weather, etc) so its good for a backup also.....
