I just got an LCD TV mounted on my wall and got a new home theater installed. However I have come across a problem getting sound directly from my television. My connections are as follows:

HDMI coming out from television and connected into my receiver with a passover built into the receiver.

Then I have HDMI from cable box going into my cable HDMI input on the receiver

Then I have HDMI from my DVD player going into my DVD input on the receiver.

With this connection I can get sound only through my receiver with the 7.1 surround sound. However I would like to just get sound from my television without using the receiver.

Does anybody have a clue on how to solve this problem?

Try 1st Should be easy to fix go to sound setting on menu. Try 2nd You may need to took the cable and DVD to a input on the TV. If your receiver isn't on all the time. I assume that your reciever is the surrond sound.

Thanks, but I figured it out. Some kind soul posted some instructions on a product review forum. The sound will come out of my tv when my receiver is on standby mode I just had to adjust the settings on my receiver.
