My screen suddenly started jumping all over the place. It's not showing any error messages or going black. It just keeps jumping around so that it is almost impossible to read. It isn't rolling or going on or off. It just moves up and down about two inches at high speed.I notice the sreen gets less light and when i push the F 7 brightener shortcut i get a circle with an x. i would imagine this means won't work.Any idea's

you have a virus,

you have shot in that if you have your virus scan set to run every day at 9pm, just leave it on, and maybe it will catch it and clean it off,,

otherwise youl need to take it to a pro that can put it in safe mode, and clean it that way,,

good luck,,

Mine was doing the exact same thing a few days ago. It eventually stopped after a few hours.

You spilled Chik-Fil-A BBQ sauce on it; just admit it!

Ran CA virus scan and spyware in the past hour and nothing showed up. Also ran Spybot and showed nothing. Hope it holds off until Mon and will take into a tech. It may be about time for a new one. These things seem to last about two to three years with me.Going on two and a half with this one.:drink:

Have you tried unhooking the monitor, powering off everything, and then plugging it back in and restarting?

How about this one?

My brother cannot download XP Service Pack 3 on his. After an hour he gets "XP Service Pack 3 Setup Error, Access Denied." I tried EVERYTHING except editing the registry because that's just something I haven't ever done.

Sort of resolved my brother's problem as well. Downloaded "Subinacl," which gives permissions to registry keys that are locked. Ran it in safe mode and the XP Service Pack 3 install FINALLY worked.

But now he has script errors. It never ends. I think I can fix that but I just ran out of energy, which is good because that will keep me from using the "Baseball Bat" remedy.
