The Sixers-Magic game is blacked out on NBA TV on DirectTv in the Philadelphia area. I spoke to DirectTv and this makes no sense. It is available on an RSN if you pay for the sports package. The game is not shown locally on any of the basic TV networks. How can an NBA playoff away playoff game be blacked out in it's own market.

It gets worse than that. Comcast is also blacking out NBA TV. The game is not available on the old CN8 which is Comcast's local basic sports channel. They are showing the Phillies-Brewers game. It is only available on Channel 201 which is Comcast's new overflow HD sports channel.

I am going to file a complaint with NBA league offices. This is absurd. How can you black out an away playoff game to the home market. Making it only available to customers who pay for Comcast who owns the team with Ed Snider.

The only other time this happens is when a MLB game conflicts with Fox on Saturdays who have exclusive broadcasting rights to games shown in their time slot. Last year for instance the Giants played the Phillies during the slot time due to a scheduling conflict and the game was blacked out.

This is not the case. No way David Stern would sign off on NBA playoff being blacked out in a local large market like Philadelphia. Comcast is behind this.
