HOME TEAM IN CAPS
All games are listed pitchers unless stated otherwise.

Atlanta -½ +1.19 over CINCINNATI (1st 5 innings)
Javier Vasquez has walked six batters and struck out 25 in 18 frames. Edinson Volquez has walked 13 and struck out 15 in 15.1 innings. Vazquez has surrendered six runs and one jack in 18 innings; Volquez has surrendered 11 runs and three bombs in 15.1 innings. As a team, the Reds have whiffed 117 times, which ranks near the bottom of the league. The Braves have the second lowest strikeouts in the majors. Volquez comes in with an ERA of 6.41, Vasquez comes in with an ERA of 3.00. And lastly, the Reds playing half their games at one of the best hitters parks in the league have a team batting average of .229, second lowest in the majors while the Braves have a team batting average of .260. You do the math. Play: Atlanta in the first five innings -½ +1.19 (Risking 2 units). <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Pittsburgh +1.14 over SAN DIEGO (1st 5 innings)
The Pirates have to be feeling great after sweeping the Marlins, then the league’s hottest team. Now they’ll take their act to San Diego to play a Padres team off to a good start but one that’s showing signs of that strong start being just an aberration. The Padres have dropped three straight and made Barry Zito look like Steve Carlton on Wednesday. They’re leaving a lot of guys stranded and that’s a sure sign of trouble. Kevin Correia has a career record of 14-23 with a 4.58 ERA and has a horrible walk to strikeout ratio (177 walks, 299 k’s in 409 career innings) He’ll give the opposition plenty of chances to score and with the way the Pirates are swinging the bats and playing with confidence they should get some opportunities here. Ian Snell has filthy stuff and appears to be gaining more and more confidence with each passing inning after a rough season last year. He was strong against the Reds in Cinci and he’s coming off a gem against the Braves. Better pitcher, better team and hot team vs cooling off team gets the call. Play: Pittsburgh -½ +1.14 (Risking 2 units). <o:p></o:p>

Seattle -½ +1.04 over LA ANGELS (1st 5 innings)
This one is all about wagering against the Shane Loux of the Angels, a guy that is just filling is for Lackey, Escobar and Santana and as soon as one of those guys return he’ll be sent packing so fast it won‘t be funny. Loux couldn’t strike out Mohammed Ali right now. His career numbers are 1-5 with a 5.94 ERA and in 72 career innings he’s struck out 23 batters. This season he’s walked three and struck out four in 12.1 frames. This guy is Double-A material and always will be. Meanwhile Eric Bedard has walked three and struck out 23 in 19.1 innings. He’s getting stronger each game after missing most of last year with assorted ailments. Bedard is a quality lefthander that rarely goes less than six innings and it’s also worth noting that the Angels have dropped three of four against southpaws. This is the biggest pitching mismatch on today’s menu. Play: Seattle in the first five innings-½ +1.04 (Risking 2 units). <o:p></o:p>

Love the Bucs play. Snell gaining momentum and being pushed by the rest of the rotation as well. Nice stuff

Fun Fact - Pirates when playing Away After Scoring 6+ in previous game are 5-24 in past 29 chances.

That noted, SD will likely have to battle to get to 4 here and that means it's close almost for sure.
