Is it safe to visit Russia? I am not Russian. Do not speak Russian and do not know anyone there.

This chic out of nowhere messages me on FB(my profile is fairly public) asks me what's up and this and that. She emails me and I email her back. This has been going on for a few weeks and she always writes long letters, seems very down to earth and hot as hell.
Now here's the objective side of me. I'm about as street smart as they get so....what are the chances if I go to visit her and she's got like 5 vicious Russian guys waiting for me that rob me, kidnap me or just hack me up for the hell of it? Do I watch too many movies or what?
I've dated pretty girls before. I've on occasion had some come on to me first and I am a good looking guy but that's just not how it works. Guys see a hot girl somewhere or even online and they will hit on them based purely on looks but chics don't usually do that.
It's highly doubtful that I will go to Russia to visit this chic but I tend to get impulsive when I have time and money on my hands which I will this summer.
She's 22, 5'5 and is very cute. I am damn tempted.
Alright so get your wisecracks in about me going there and taking it up the arse from a bunch of savage Russian guys and getting robbed but I hope somewhere in there someone gives me some useful tips about Russia for the ignorant tourist.
