(Sports Network) - Mark Buehrle tries to make it three straight wins this evening when the Chicago White Sox continue their three-game set with the Toronto Blue Jays at U.S. Cellular Field.

After receiving a no-decision in his first start, Buehrle has responded with back-to-back terrific efforts. Against the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday, Buehrle allowed just three runs and eight hits in 6 2/3 innings.

In his three starts this year Buehrle has surrendered six runs in 18 innings.

Buehrle has faced the Blue Jays 12 times (11 starts) and is 4-3 against them with a 2.66 ERA.

The injury-depleted Blue Jays will turn to right-hander Brian Burres, who was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday to start in place of rookie Ricky Romero.

Romero, who had been 2-0 with a 1.71 ERA in three starts, is sidelined with a right oblique strain and joined fellow starter Jesse Litsch and closer B.J.

Ryan on the 15-day disabled list on Thursday.

Burres, meanwhile, appeared in 31 games (22 starts) for the Baltimore Orioles last season and was 7-10 with a 6.04 ERA.

Toronto continued its recent domination of the White Sox in the opener of this set on Friday, as the Blue Jays scored a season-best 14 runs on a season-high 21 hits in a 14-0 rout.

Toronto has now won eight of its last nine games against the White Sox, including four of the five contested in the Windy City.

Vernon Wells and Rod Barajas each had three hits and two RBI for the Blue Jays, who won their third straight overall and seventh in nine tries. Jose Bautista had a solo homer, and every other starter for Toronto had at least one RBI except for Lyle Overbay, who went 0-for-4.

Brian Tallet (1-0) got the win after throwing 5 2/3 innings and giving up just four hits with five strikeouts and three walks.

Chris Getz and Brian Anderson had two hits each to account for four of the six hits for Chicago, which dropped its second straight and third in four tries.

Gavin Floyd (2-2) took the loss after giving up six runs -- five earned -- on nine hits over 4 1/3 innings. He also struck out five and walked as many batters.

Just a heads up. Weather has been bad here all day. On and off rain with more expected. Might want to consider the Sox for the 1st 5 innings.

Buehrle swaps spots with Gavin Floyd. There has been no explanation for the switch, but it means Buehrle will be pitching on six days of rest.

They probably didn't want to waste a start by Buerhle in case this game doesn't make it to the 5th inning.
