Baseball Series plays

Thinking about doing the following series plays and wanted to hear some thoughts:

Boston Red Sox (Series) -115 vs Cleveland Indians (Series)

Pitching Matchups:

BOS T. Wakefield (R) | CLE C. Lee (L)
BOS B. Penny (R) | CLE A. Reyes (R)
BOS J. Lester (L) | CLE F. Carmona (R)


Toronto Blue Jays (Series) +160 vs Kansas City Royals (Series)
Jays have been playing great don't understand why they are such underdogs? :think2:

Pitching Matchups:

TOR D. Purcey (L) | KC B. Bannister (R)
TOR S. Richmond (R) | KC G. Meche (R)
TOR B. Tallet (L) | KC Z. Greinke (R)


Thinking about laying more on the sox than the Jays...I said from the start the first series I play on them they will cost me...I hope Im wrong

I think you are liking the wrong side of the Red Sox series, as I am a believer that there is no team more discounted off intrinsic worth predicated on recent play more than the Indians are at this point and time. There is no team in the league underachieving in each facet of the game more than the Indians. The market will certainly discount this notion when up against a hot Red Sox team. The Red Sox are prone to a Yankee hangover, send two pitchers struggling to find their form in Penny and Lester to the hill, and are backed by an overworked bullpen. Wakefield looks sharp, but is without a doubt overvalued tonight against Lee, a pitcher the market is still shying away from despite putting forth two solid outings in a row.

As tempting as it is to back a very solid team coming off 10 straight wins, the market is not naive enough to leave any undiscovered worth on the table when dealing with the Red Sox. They are priced for perfection right now.

I think the Blue Jays are priced about right. They, much like the Red Sox are playing well right now. However, the market is calling their bluff, and I think the market is right with their assesment on this team.

The Blue Jays "true" value lies within their pitching, both their starting and their bullpen. Their current record is predominantly predicated on their hitting, a facet that in reality is a weakness. You are buying into a lot of smoke and mirrors if you want to back them after this run. Injuries to their bullpen has made their underbelly weak, not something you want when you have three pithchers in a row not built to eat innings. Both Meche and Grienke are in top form right now, and have shown no signs of cooling off.

Because they get a helping of Meche and Greinke

I remember last year the first game off a yankees/sox rival weekend, the next game they both lost

Wakie and Lee.. great pitching going on here
