<HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1> <!-- / icon and title -->LA Dodgers at San Francsco

The Giants have won five of their last six after blowing a late lead last night to the Diamondbacks, but they have been playing other poor hitting teams. That won’t be the case here tonight when they face the Dodgers, who are batting .291 this year while scoring 5.8 rpg. Barry Zito may have had some success against a poor hitting Padres team last time out, but 10 days ago against the Dodgers he gave up six runs and four walks in five innings of work. It doesn’t help Zito’s cause that the Dodgers are 4-0 against left-handers this year with a .301 batting average. The Giants just don’t have the fire power to keep with the Dodgers.

San Francisco’s Barry Zito is 5-5 with a 4.73 ERA in 11 starts versus the Dodgers, who outscored the Giants 23-7 in a three-game sweep in LA earlier this month.

recommend:LA Dodgers

NY Yankees at Detroit

The Yankees and Tigers are each 3-1 over in CC Sabathia and Justin Verlander’s starts, respectively, this year. Verlander has been roughed up the most, however, getting tagged for 27 hits and 21 earned runs in 21 innings worked.

The Yankees have given up a whopping 75 runs over their last nine games.

recommend:over 9 runs

Seattle at Chicago W/S

John Danks of the White Sox has surrendered just two runs –- both earned –- and nine hits over three starts covering 19 innings this season.

recommend:W/S "Run Line" (-1.5)
