Im not talking about quitting your job and traveling the world...I am talking still working and living where you are but not worrying about money anymore. You feel like you are over the hump at what point?

you have access to said amount of cash...after debts....do not include your mortgage in your figuring

many people owe say qtr mil on house and have qtr mil cash....I would say they still have access to qtr mil if they had to have it

As long as I feel the need to continue working, I'm obviously not yet past the desire to increase my income.

Oh and being GayTolerant increases my potential impact in the marketplace.....just sayin'

Until I'm confident I can outlive my financial assets, I'm not done making more.

Using the example of "a quarter million liquid", that's barely three years income for us, so I'd have to die before age 53.

I know I am living comfortably now with only a small fraction of what most others have said

If you wanna really have some fun...

1) Answer WW's question about How Much

2) Now take the number of years between your current age and age 55

3) Divide #1 by #2 and determine how much you'll need to make above and beyond your current living expenses to be "comfortable at age 55"

I don't need a whole lot of money to be happy. Not to say I don't have any or have a great-paying job but as I get older I worry less and less about money and pay more attention to what matters the most.
