<!-- end mod-article-title --><!-- begin story body -->LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The owners of I Want Revenge scratched morning line favorite from the Kentucky Derby due to an ankle injury.
David Lanzman announced early Saturday they'll scratch the 3-1 favorite just hours before the Run for the Roses.
I Want Revenge, co-owned by IEAH Stables and others, established himself as one of the Derby favorites with a last-to-first dash in the Wood Memorial last month.
Co-owner David Lanzman, trainer Jeff Mullins and veterinarians Dr. Foster Northrop and Dr. Larry Bramlege appeared at a news conference to explain the decision. They said they detected a potential problem in I Want Revenge's left front ankle. They decided after examing him further that it would not be worth the risk to run him, given the likely track conditions.
