.......on the Derby than NBC?

I swear, I wish they'd give this back to CBS. They weren't even there when the roses were put on the winning horse which is a definite no-no. I didn't see any pictures of the owners until they presented the trophy.

And to top it all off, I miss that announcer who would say, "AND DOWN THE STRETCH THEY COME!" That still sends chills down my spine.

They interviewed the owner right after the race and before the trophy presentation. He was the big dude in a black duster and cowboy hat and he was on crutches.

I didnt even know who was winning until the horse crossed the line.

durkin did a poor job today,but dave (down the stretch they come) johnson is one of the worst announcers i have ever heard,his claim to fame is yelling horses are closing when in fact they are not closing at all

nbc sports is a reflection of general electric...

when you are ran by a crap organization...

the product suffers...

across-the-board...nbc sports isn't worth a roll of toilet paper.

I was in a crowded bar and could not hear the call..worst was never did they post the numbers of the horses while the race was being run..a total disaster..

NBC main problem as is ABC and ESPN...is the angle of the race they show.......they need youbet or tvg feed...........so you can see WTF is going on......terrible for real horse players

Tom Durkin is usually good i think, but this year he TOTALLY laid an egg. The worst announcing job of any horse race ive heard.

and if you listen to the feed from churchill with the british(aussie? i dont know) guy he picked him up much sooner...i love durkin but he whiffed and the track announcer didnt

Durkin has been solid over the years, but he swung and missed Saturday. He did not identify the winner until Mine that Bird was 6 lengths ahead and just yards from the finish line. Trevor Denman should have this Triple Crown run!
