You'd be hard pressed to find a bigger Vincent D'Onofrio fan and CI on the boards than me, so I was skeptical when the producers named Jeff Goldblum as their new detective, but I went into this season with an open mind.

Anybody see Goldblum's debut?
Brilliant.

If the rest of the season is like his first show, this will be the best season yet.

VD is still in the cast, right? Rotating episodes like he did with Noth?

Bill, I still can't get over how much you like this show.

This and CSI:NY two shows I have tried to watch and just can't get into.

Goldblum replaced Noth and is alternating with Vince. Noth has other projects so he couldn't continue.
Producers had to cut D'Onofrio's workload in half due to exhaustion.
The shows ratings would suffer if they lost D'Onofrio if he left, they had no choice.
New episodes are on NBC owned USA (NBC's decision) because they can use grainier dialogue on cable.

Rob, CI is an acquired taste, I feel D'Onofrio is the best in the business today, bar none.
I hear what you are saying about CSI NY, I like the CSI franchise, (it's the Mrs. favorite), but the NY is hard to get into, but is a quality show never the less.
IMO the Law and Order franchise > CSI franchise.

CSI NY and CSI Miami are caricatures of real police and unless you're willing to gulp down a load of Really Wooden Acting, they're a real beatdown

Don't make me break out the YouTube video which features the best of Horatio putting on his sunglasses and saying some monotone tagline to kick off each episode.

The only CSI I watch now is the original.
O and A did a 15 minute Caruso bit, one of the funniest radio bits I ever heard.

Dennis Franz couldn't stand Caruso, almost quit NYPD Blue after season 1 because of that egomaniac.

I'll never forget one movie critic who said, "when Caruso takes off his shirt, he looks like a pumpkin"

I like CSI Miami a bit and it's not because of Kane. It's very well produced with lots of terrefic scenery, detail, great story lines and good acting. It's just a really well put together show.

What can I say? It's an hour of shameless popcorn.

There is a reason it's the most popular show in the world right now.

We are so spolied these days though. You remember growing up when you had like 6 or 7 channels that came in and there were maybe a handful of good programs to watch each week. And now there is just countless hours of these shows that are mega produced and well polished. I can't keep up with all of it.

Watch all the law and order series myself. It shows how folks taste differ. I could not take anymore of Vicent Donofrio and how that Lady Lieutenant got to be on for so many years is beyond me. I noticed this year she does say a few things and even makes a few comments now and then.l I guess they got tired of paying her for saying nothing for about 10 years. She didn't haver 45 seconds in the show before this year.Can/t even think of her name . It ends in Merkelson. Don't really think i like Anthony Anderson at all in the new episodes. Looks like it is going to his head like it did that idiot David Caruso
