use this list of players - http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players?league=nba&position=pg - and name me the top 5 point guards in the league:

I've got:

1. Deron Williams
2. Chris Paul
3. Tony Parker
4. Chauncey Billups
5. ??????????????

Fill in the 5th spot. Is it Rondo? Rose? Miller? Nash? Harris? Kidd?

Having a big debate about this, just curious about others' opinions.

If Rondo had a jump shot, he would be unstoppable.. He needs to work on that

Fuck Nash. I love watching him and he's great on offense but defense wins the titles and he plays next to none.

Rondo fucks up too much and has no jumpshot.. Doesn't belong in the top 5 right now, will definitely in the next year ot two though.

Chris Paul

D Will

Tony Parker

Chauncey has to be in the top 5 because of what he is doing in Denver tells you all you need to know about how good he is

the 5th spot...i guess you gota say Rondo hes dropping triple doubles like its nothing...and was the PG of last years unbeatable Celtics team

its very hard to leave Derrick Rose and Devin Harris off...but Rose will in the top 5 in no time...and for many years...hes something special

Andre Miller is just the best point guard no one knows or ever talks about...put Miller on the Rockets or Magic (instead of Alston) and then he would be talked about

Chris Paul doesn't deserve to be even talked about for the half-assed effort he displayed in the playoffs. Give me Rose and the other 4 who actually show some heart in what they do, not some cheap lobs to west with a lethargic pace.

top 5 in no particular order
Billups
Paul
Williams
Nelson
Rondo

Those 5 are the best defensive players at thhe position. All can control pace, score, and pass the ball efficiently. People will argue Nelson, but Orlando is a shell of itself without him on the court and he's been solidfor some time now.

Nash and Parker are two of the most overrated points in the league. Nash is a turnover machinewho only thrives in a open system. He can't play in a half court offense and is a horrible defender.

Parker also plays no defenseand has no long range shot.

id add rose, miller, before ParkerorNash.

Nash 6th, but this order would have been different last year...

Don't think Rondo has emerged as a top 5, yet.

Anyone who puts Nash on this list must be COMPLETELY IGNORING THE DEFENSIVE END OF THE COURT. Are you serious?!?! Nash over Rondo OR Harris?!?!

they dont know the game.

nash only succeeds in a open court offense where he can run wild and he gets ahead of someone. if he ever has to get in front of somebody he doesnt. he is a turnover machine, can't play playoff basketball(half court) and is a defensive liability.

Devin Harris is probably the answer for that 5th spot for last season, but going forward put Derrick Rose on that list for sure.
