On a roll: Woman wins 5 lottery cash prizes

Winnings in W.Va. game total $167,600 since September

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Brenda Bailey is on a roll.
Since September, the 59-year-old South Charleston woman has won five West Virginia Lottery cash prizes, totaling $167,600.
All of Bailey's winnings came from the Lottery's instant games. Her latest win is her biggest — the $100,000 top prize in the Price is Right game.

Bailey claimed that prize Tuesday. Her other winnings from various instant games include $50,000 in April, $1,000 in March, $6,000 in January and $10,000 in September.
Lottery Director John Musgrave said none of his staff can recall a similar streak of luck.

probably one of those middle eastern 7-11 workers who tell people they have a losing ticket and then go off and cash it in. Chris Hansen is busting these people now. The pedophiles can come out of their holes in the ground.

People should check their tickets themselves. You can't trust anyone especially these days.

We have people around here (in Rhode Island) who cash lottery tickets for a little payout.

If you win a hefty amount, it's reported to the IRS. If you can find a guy within a lower income bracket, he can cash the ticket for you for a fee. They have people like this hanging around the tracks.

He gets a cut, the IRS gets no tax and everyone is happy.

Also reported to State Social Services if you owe child support.

I did that with my dad once. He would send the same 3 numbers every week for the trifecta with a buddy of his. He won $3,000+ one time and took me to the track to claim the prize. He gave me a couple hundred dollars and I didn't have to claim it on my taxes since I didn't make enough that year since I was in college.

Our government regulated lottery has terminals that go CH CHING!! and show dollar amount won on screen every time you have a winner. This screen faces the customers and was just installed in all terminals a couple months ago or something. I bet it was done because clerks or shopowners were keeping winning tickets.

I don't know why they didn't do this before. I can't imagine how many people had winning tickets but got screwed by greedy clerks that told them it was not a winner.
