Question: Why is the MLB Network showing Pete Rose in their commercial "montage" of memorable events/players? He is currently banned from baseball, not eligible for the Hall of Fame, but yet they still don't mind exploiting his image for commercial reasons. I know MLB owns the video footage, but shouldn't someone in the league office view these ads first before they are shown?
Anyway, currently watching Game 6 of the 1977 World Series. Something tells me, R-E-G-G-I-E is going to hit a 3rd Home Run in his next at bat against Charlie Hough....simply a hunch I have.
They just showed the 1977 salaries for the Yankees starting lineup. I was only able to copy down the first six hitters, so here they are. It is amazing how far things have come.
Mickey Rivers: $125,000
Willie Randolph: $60,000
Thurman Munson:$330,000
Reggie Jackson: $330,000
Chris Chambliss: $150,00
Graig Nettles: $135,000
They said it did not include bonuses, incentives, and deferred pay.
Trivia Question: We know that Reggie hit 3 homers in Game 6 of the 1977 World Series, but what did Reggie Jackson do in his first AB in that game? (Hint: It was not one of the HR's.)
"I must kill the Queen."--Reggie Jackson during his appearance as California Angel in The Naked Gun w/Leslie Nielsen.
