**Zach Greinke's ERA is the lowest in MLB history after eight starts.

**Don't look now, but the Texas Rangers have consistent pitching. After surrendering 74 runs in their first 10 games, the Little Rangers have allowed only 86 runs in the next 20 games. That 4.3 per game pace is equal to Top 8 in the majors this season. In past 16 games not started by McCarthy, Rangers have allowed more than five runs just one time - with an average allowed in those 16 games of just 3.7 per game

**Arizona in 12 games so far vs LH starters has scored a not so lusty 31 runs (2.67 pg). Three of those games accounted for 18 runs with the remaining nine notching just 13. Snakes vs their own TeamTotal in those 12 games are 3-9

**Florida Marlins in past 19 games since their smoking hot start to the season have scored just 67 runs overall (3.5 pg) They are 7-11-1 vs their own TeamTotal in that stretch.

**Cincinnati Reds with Volquez starting after a team Loss are 16-3 in past 19 chances. 13 of those 16 wins were by 2+ runs

Reds with Volquez starting after a team Win are just 5-9 in past 14 chances and only one of those wins was by 2+ runs

**Pittsburgh when playing Away After Scoring 5+ in their previous game has won just three times in past 19 chances. Roll it back to mid April last season and they're just 9-35 in this role

**Houston Astros are 26-20 in their past 46 Away games. Every single one of those 46 games were decided by 2+ runs. Flat betting each of those games HOU -1.5 during this stretch would have netted between 25-30 units.

**Going back into Aug 2007, San Diego Padres when playing Game 1 of an Away Series are 35-9 vs the posted Total.

MAY 25th UPDATE

First I'll Update Existing FunFacts and then add when I find others.

Red Font Intended to advertise upcoming spots where the FF may apply

****

FF1) Zach Greinke, after nine starts has lowest ERA in MLB history for first nine starts of a season (Greinke next start Tuesday vs Det)

***

FF2) The overall pitching of Texas continues to smoke. Since last update, 12 games allowing only 40 runs, making it just 126 runs in past 32 games (3.9 rpg). In the 25 non-McCarthy starts during this overall span, Texas OpponentTeamTotal has topped "5" just one time (1-18-6). And fwiw, two of the three McCarthy starts since last update also held OppTT below 5.
(Rangers upcoming home stand likely sees consistent double digit Total lines...Under leans?)

***

FF3) Arizona faced two LH starters since last Update and mustered just six runs overall in those two games. Thus after 14 games this season vs LH starters, Snakes with just 37 runs (2.65 rpg) (Zona not slated to see another LH starter until a series At LAD beginning June 1)

***

FF4) Florida with 60 runs in past 13 games (4.6 rpg) is moving back to center from the previous 16 games at just 3.7 rpg

***

FF5) Reds lost in last outing with Volquez - After Losing previous game. Cincy now 16-4 in past 20 Volquez starts coming After a team loss.

Still just 5-9 in Volquez starts coming After a team win. (Volquez scheduled to work Tuesday, thus making Monday's result the trigger)

***

Pittsburgh played three Away games After Scoring 5+ in previous game and they won all three. Though note, this trifecta was versus the lowly Nats. (Bucs on road at CHC Mon-Wed. Note they are coming off just four runs scored in Sunday's game)

***

FF6) Since last update, Houston won three of five on the road, with two of the wins by 2+ runs. The concluding two one-run games at Chicago broke the 49 consecutive Away games with nary a one-run finish either way.

Astros now 28-21 SU in their past 49 Away with 27 of those wins by 2+ runs.

(Astros open a six game road trip Monday at Cin and then to Pit.....

Conflicting trend in the Monday game where so far this season, Astros just 3-12 overall in Game1s for 2009 so far. We're thus personally going to pass Monday.....Game 2 will include the "Volquez" funfact as well for a nice pair of indicators )

***

FF7) San Diego played just one Game1 Away since last update and that finished Under. Padres now 35-10 on Game1 Away Totals going back almost two full seasons. (Padres Game1 at Arz Monday and Game1 at Col on Friday the 29th)

FF9) Los Angeles Dodgers past 53 when playing * After Allowing OponnentTeamTotal Over 5.5 have had 42 OpponentTeamTotal Under 5.5

IOW, it's rather unusual for Dodgers to allow more than 5.5 in two consecutive games.
(LAD at Colorado this afternoon After Allowing 10 on Sunday to LAA. Colorado posted TeamTotal is 5.5 (-130u)
