I've been waiting all year for this and I've finally picked my spot. First, let me explain.

There are three pitchers that I follow extremely close in Major League Baseball. Not surprisingly, all three pitchers are absolutely terrible.

1. Livan Hernandez
2. Carlos Silva
3. Adam Eaton

The first two pitchers on this list have a decent reputation for whatever reason. Since they have both been in the bigs for several years, and because both have been reasonably successful in the past, they continue to get WAY too much credit, especially at home. The third one, Adam Eaton, continues to amaze me. He has a career ERA of 4.87 and hasn't posted an ERA of less than 5 since the 2005 season. He is incredibly awful. I also bet against him at home.

I am 1-1 in Livan games this year. He totally shocked me with a strong start in the opener as he pitched the Mets to a victory over the Marlins. But two games later, on the road against St. Louis, I put big money on the Cardinals and watched them tee off for 7 runs in 4 innings. I took a pass on the last two Livan outings but am ready to watch him melt on the mound today.

I think the Pirates knock him out of the game by their second run through the lineup. The Pirates have lost seven straight and are desperate for a win. They got embarassed yesterday. I look for a quick start and at least 7+ runs out of them today.

Ian Snell is on the mound for Pitt, and though he has struggled, I am sure that he will leave the game with a lead. I'm serious - Livan is going to get DRILLED today.

No real earthshaking stats or numbers to share. We all know what we're dealing with here. There are only three players on Pitt's lineup that has faced Livan more than 5 times. However, four players in the lineup have hit home runs against him in the past. But again, I'm acting on gut and instinct here ... don't care about the numbers.

Take the Pirates +145 :dancefool

No, I hear ya. Believe me. Ian Snell appears to be Livan's equal. He has been absolutely abysmal this year. But I just feel like I have a strong read on Livan in this one.

GL. Couldn't agree more about Silva. I've been betting against him every time he takes the mound for over a year now. It's a shame they finally yanked him out of the rotation. That was the easiest money there was.

Trust me on this one guys. I'm not telling you to put your whole bankroll on this one, cause either am i. But it is my strongest play of the season and I think it will be a very LOL type of game watching Livan throw meatballs that get bashed into the outfield ... and over the fence.

Great sign so far ...

Livan is falling behind every batter and can't locate anything. 1-0 Pitt with two on.

Worth noting:

Batters facing Livan the first time hit him .189.
The second time around: .369.

This is getting a bit frustrating. Eight batters in three innings have reached base, there's been a leadoff double in each of the last two innings, Livan has thrown 70 pitches ...

And yet ----> the score is only 2-0 Pitt. :(
