I'm betting the house on this one tonight... if I was a handicapper it'd be a 5*, 50 dime, GOY, absolute gaurentee... any other sales pitch you can think of

After a slow start, Garza is 3-2 with a 3.51 ERA, hitters are batting just .170 off him. His WHIP is at a solid 1.00 and he's 36 in 41 innings while giving up just 24 hits in that span. In his two starts against Boston this year, he's thrown 15 innings and given up just three earned runs off a ridiculous EIGHT hits... That adds up to a 0.61 ERA and a 0.87 WHIP. It hasn't been just this season that Garza has dominated Boston, over the last six starts against Boston, he's 5-0 with a 1.37 ERA. the only hitter on the Boston team who is hitting higher than .200 against Garza is leadoff man Jacoby Ellsbury who is an excellant 8 for 19. other than that, pedrioa is 3 for 21, lowel 2 for 17, youk (who is not likely to start) 3 for 16, ortiz 2 for 14, jd drew 2 for 10, varitek 1 for 7, bay 1 for 6. if you count every hitter on the team against garza, they are hitting .178/.252/.310 combined, including just eight extra base hits in 129 ABs. even better, the rays are 7-1 when garza starts against boston.

on the other hand, josh beckett has been very inconsistant this year. he may be 3-2, but hitters are batting .315 against him and he's posted a 6.75 ERA. not counting his opening day gem, he's thrown 27 and two thirds innings, giving up 25 earned runs off 44 hits and 14 walks. in his career at fenway, he's 21-16, but has a 4.79 ERA and .257 BAA. lately, tampa bay has pounded him there fair share of times.

The rays are 6-3 vs. Boston this year including 3-2 at fenway.

good luck.
