Cop on 9-1-1 duty trying to get some OT hangs up on frantic girl.

Collin county Texas guy gets sent to jail for not showing up for jury duty. Gets lost in the system. Finally gets out after writing the Dallas morning news. Was in for 83 days.

geez, that is amazing......i would imagine you might hear anything on 911, cuz people are frantic, cant believe you would call her an ass and hang up without ever asking what the "emergency" is..

Can you imagine this cop being out on the beat when he comes across someone in need who is frantic and swearing? Would he leave the scene just like he hungup on the girl?

Kind of hard to trust him to protect the public's safety. Maybe he can push some papers for the rest of his career.

No question, the response by the 911 officer was reprehensible. A responder has to have a thick skin when dealing with a panicking, stressed out caller and needs to control his emotions.

An underlying issue is also the complete lack of remorse by the girl for the surly way spoke to the officer. She sounded less concerned about getting help for her father and more interested in threatening the officer with his job or a lawsuit while she still needed an ambulance.

I think she realized at that point that she needed to threaten him with a lawsuit in order to get a response. It was obvious by the cops lack of response that she wasn't going to get an ambulance by talking with him.

Threatening him with a lawsuit doesn't necessarily mean she wasn't still concerned about her father.

Listening to it again, it sounds like two people let their tempers get the best of them. The major difference is that the 911 reponder can not afford to let that happen. His first duty was to determine the nature of the emergency and react appropriately. He failed. However, this girl didn't even start the call in a civil manner and immediately began throwing f-bombs.

Not siding with the girl here for bad language, but what cop hasn't heard F bombs before in his life. And if he takes offense to them to the point where he neglects his job, then he needs to quit and take up gardening!!!

Good chance he is done. The lawsuit settlement will ask for his firing and a large sum of money. They may not get the money they want but they will have his job. 23 wasted years and pension over one bad day at the office. If I was hi I retire ASAP and save my pension.

But the girl, she is an even bigger dick! Ok, the phone operator is being awkward, so why antagonise him even more when your dad is having a seizure on the floor. Then threaten to sue him too..like that is going to help your dad?
