Anyone with the BRUINS-CELTICS-RED SOX parlay this evening?

What a trifecta for Boston backers, two of the games (Celtics and Bruins) were crucial in tightening those series up. As a 50 year fan of all three teams I actually slept better last night knowing these results.

Right now for some reason I have The Red Sox on the brain. Kudos to the Celts who without Kevin Garnett have been battling tooth and nail now for 11 playoff games winning 6 but we all know even if they can knock off The Magic Lebron and co. will be waiting. With a heathy KG it's a pick-em without KG it's Cavs in five. I know all teams experience critical injuries and the Celts are no exception, along with Tom Brady, KG's knee injury have been the two most devastating injuries in Boston for quite some time. Such is life in The Show, even if it is football and basketball..

The Bruins had a great regular season and need to win a crucial do or die game at Carolina Tuesday night to extend their best season in decades. I will be saddened by a loss but no matter what The B's have already had a great year. I can live with that.

The Old Home Team Red Sox are another matter. This season has a lot of promise if the Bosox can get healthy.

Jason Bay continues to be the anti Manny for the Sox. Quietly having a terrific season and deadly from the 7th inning on when close games are on the line. However this team is missing some key componets right now but has managed to stay just a game out of first. Heres to the Sox braintrust signing Bay to a long term deal soon, he is a free agent in 2010. They would be fools to let a player like Bay go now because money is really no object.

Already without Kevin Youkilis (tightness on left side), and key to the rotation pitcher Dice K on the DL they had to replace the 2008 AL MVP Dustin Pedroia last night in the 4th inning with a groin pull, hopefully not serious as he played an additional inning after it happened.

Terry Francona expects that Pedroia will only miss one game and be back in the line up Wednesday at Anaheim. Youk is day to day and should see action soon. Dice K is rehabbing on the DL and pitched 4 shutout innings at Triple AAA Pawtucket ysterday.

Matsuzaka wasn't vintage, but he got what he needed out of the day, pitching four shutout innings and allowing four hits. Dice-K walked two and didn't record a strikeout. He threw 58 pitches, 37 for strikes in his second rehab start.

Matsuzaka, who is recovering from a mild right shoulder strain, will likely make his final rehab start for Pawtucket on Friday in Toledo. He is likely to rejoin the Boston rotation during the homestand that starts on May 19.

The AL East or maybe a better name is a four team battle for two playoff spots.

Tampa Bay will get it together soon as will the Yankees, not to mention the great start Toronto is off to. All this makes the AL East the best Division in baseball. The problem is only two of the four contenders can make the playoffs (most likely if the Wild Card come out of the East as usual) so this should be some summer in the AL East.

I know as soon as one of these teams lose a game the anti Boston gang will bump this thread mockingly but that is OK because for one glorious Sunday night all the stars shined down on Beantown.

That was horrible.

Thank you David Stern for giving LA the 4:00 pm game and Boston the 8:00 pm game.

I don't know what these people are thinking sometimes.

Wil's post #3 almost got me to shed a tear.

It reminded me of what it means to be a Boston fan.

I know that sounds corny, but that is just so well written
