-1 RL formula and example......borrowed from another site....
Intended wager ($25) split in 2 bets : 1) ML 2) RL
The goal is to risk the amount on ML that will win you the amount risked on RL in case your team wins by only 1 run. Cpl of examples:

cardinals ML +180, cardinals alt RL -1.5 is +230. SO I risk :
ML $9.75 to win 15.60
RL $15.25 to win 35.07
Total risk is $25 to win 50.67 for st.louis -1 RL

Marlins ML -130, marlins RL -1.5 is +125. So I risk:
ML $14.13 to win 10.87
RL $10.87 to win 13.58
Total risk is $25 to win 24.45

I dont do certain math or use spreadsheets. I just use betus and when I put the amount in the "risk" box it automatically calculates it for me and gives me the amount I win in the "win" box. You guys can do it as well. I dont think you have to be logged on to do so. Hope this helps. I know Mizm probably has the equation somewhere and can help out .
Note* Notice in the cardinals game, I didnt have time to find the exact numbers to give me the push. So I risked a little more on ML so if cardinals win by only 1, I profit 35 cents.

And that is why u don't bet huge favs. Not to mention Jose Reyes is a scrub and can't field a simple ground ball. Next time I try and bet a huge fav, somebody slap me, thanks.
