Washington +1.32 over SAN FRANCISCO

It's always worth taking a look at playing against the Giants after a series with the Dodgers, as these two rivals are to the National League what the Yanks and Bosox are to the AL. The Giants are also coming off a big, 13-inning victory yesterday and chances are good that they'll suffer a letdown here. Even if they don't, they're still a vulnerable team because of a serious lack of offense. In fact, the Giants have the second worst on base percentage in all of baseball with a .303 mark and they're also near the bottom with a .245 team batting average. Randy Johnson is hit and miss but he's much more appealing as a dog than he is as the chalk and he's not going to get stronger as the season progresses. Daniel Cabrera is an enigma to be sure. He has wicked stuff but he's a blockhead and about 15 pitching coaches have tried to straighten him out with little or no success. When he's on his game he's tough as shoe leather and although he's 0-3, he still has a chance to win everytime he takes the mound and he has a solid offense behind him. The Nats are proving that they can bash with the best of them and they're slowly but surely getting better. They've now won five of seven and they have a 3-3 reocrd on the road against lefties. Offensively, the Natsare dangerous while the Gianta are not and this is a pefect setting for Cabrera to pick up his first win of the year. Play: Washington +1.32 (Risking 2 units).
