I have received numerous checks from different sportsbooks in the past and have NEVER had one not accepted.

Now if you are talking about your bank wanting to place a HOLD on the check, then that is a total different story. In this day and age, if I owned a bank, I would put a hold on ALL checks if the customer doesnt have the cash in his account.

It is just too easy to print your own checks at home. So when I deposit a check for $7000 for example, the bank will of course hold the check for 10 days if I do not have the funds in my account.

I think that is what you are referring to when you say that banks wont cash the check. Some of the checks are drawn from Bank of America for instance, so just go to that bank.

Check cashing joints would be crazy to cash those checks for their customers. I find it hard to believe that they would cash a check for $3000 or so from a sportsbook. They cant be that stupid. The check could be fake. You probably have to go DEEP IN THE HOOD to find a joint to cash one of those checks. I have never been to a check cashing joint, but I am not sure that it would safe to cash a big check. Hell workers at the joint will have your home address and other shit. You would be already be creating a scene just by showing up at one of those joints. It is going to look like you are trying to scam them by presenting that check. If it were legit, then you would just go to your bank

That's the scary part - honestly, there are some check cashing joints here in essentially nice areas that I go to - but I still wouldn't want them to have all my info, and for a large check (>$1000 or so) you'd have to give them everything.

I once cashed a student loan check for ~$6k, but it took 45 minutes and I think the cashing joint took $300 of it... That's okay though, 'cause I made back the $300 at Foxwoods that same afternoon.
