We would like to introduce a new online social network called Fans of the Game, (http://fansofthegame.org/). Our website is designed to provide sports fans and sports bettors a forum to receive up-to-date information about the movement to overturn the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (UIGEA). Fans of the Game is a grass-roots initiative that gives fans the networking ability to exchange information and raise awareness about the benefits of on-line sports wagering.

The momentum to change American legislation to legalize on-line sports betting is drawing support from across America. Many Americans believe the legalizing of on-line sports wagering will provide revenues to the U.S. government through the taxation of the on-line betting websites. Sports fans recognize the need for increased revenues to the government during the current state of economic uncertainty, and are confident that on-line sports betting can be part of a revenue generating solution.

Fans of the Game provides its community of sports fans a complete user network that gives them the opportunity to play a vibrant role in changing legislation and attitudes regarding on-line sports betting.

Please join us and we encourage you to invite any friends that you believe would be interested in staying informed about this timely issue and having the opportunity to voice their opinions. Check us out and let us know how we can best service this issue and your interests.

Here is how it is going down. They will pass Franks Bill and in the next 2 yrs sportsbetting also. BUT that wont legalize anything. What they are going to do is toss it back to the states to decide if they want to allow it or not THEN have the states also do regulation....

What the federal govt gets is they will have a federal tax of 2% on any book accepting wagers from Americans..That tax will be on the total deposits into the book monthly. ( Bill is already introduced as a rider on Franks Bill , look it up)
The Fed cuts a books edge by 2% off the top then the states get ahold of it after that...If the state even takes another 2% then a book cant survive.. They cant give 4% unless they are offering like .40 lines on everything...
What if the states take no more from the book ....They instead take a say 4% winnings tax off the player....Now his edge is gone...

Somebody explain to me who legalized betting is good for ?????? Not the book or the everyday bettor so who are we passing this for????? Poker may be a little different but i can just imagine the amount of taxes the winner will pay on the 1st legal Online WSOP that will draw 200K players easy...Winner might get his entry fee back after taxes...
