another day another bungling by the NHL.....

2 huge game 7's tonight...ya know like game 7....2 words that will make any sports fan stop in his tracks.. the nhl folks who obviously havent run a lemonade stand have the games competing against each other.... first game at 7...next one at 8....that doesnt even take into account that one of the games will be on the nhl network which a total of 12 people get on the planet.

why on earth would you have two game 7's running at the same time??? this has been the worst playoffs ever for any sport as far as tv and scheduling goes. rodeo and whiplash are going to generate more attention then the nhl if this keeps up.

rant over

very bad situation, but I guess they have to maintain the integrity of the home teams "regular" start time.

Part of the advantage of home ice, is routine, if they had to play at 10pm in Detroit, then perhaps they are transferring some of the edge to Anaheim?

i love it man. this league cant walk 5 feet without tripping over itself. and they will continue to trip up. i posted basically the same thing in the hockey forum.

game 7 and the 10 people that have nhl network, that actually care about the league, which no one does, will be able to watch it.

but mainstream people that dont have the channel wont be able to find the game.

league is a joke, and i love ragging on it.

after the playoffs are over im going after the phoenix coyotes being bankrupt and playing that angle hard until i find something else, which no doubt will come up.

Now that Craiglists' erotic section is being closed, that will leave

Will that be the boring game or the one some might actually be
interested in watching? Across Canada i expect the CBC or TSN
will have the relevant one of the two.

You going to pay for my upgrade supscription on dish network to get the game? I have top 250 and there is no NHLTV. I didnt even know NHLTV existed until I read the article about that.

Yet you expect these people to be able to find a game that they dont even know what channel its on? Please.

Its not on my TV, and I have a premium package, so Im assuming it wont be onmost other peoples programming either.

Andlike the OP said, who the hell watches NHL TV anyways.

bingo.

nba: tnt, espn, abc
nfl: espn,cbs,nbc
mlb: espn, fox

NHL: uhhh versus, and some other thing called NHLTV that is not available on most satellite programming that I have to buy an additional package to get. uhhh, yeaaaaaaaaa. i dont think so.

If I get this NHLTV thing right, its like NBA and NFL and MLBtv, where its just talk about the league all the time. You dont see any meaningful games on those channels though unless your league is somessed up you can't put it on any other channel like the NHL now.

I have basic cable and will have no problems watching either hockey game, a shit ton of baseball, the NBA playoffs and the ponies on TVG....All from the comfort of my bar stool. :drink:

Like I said....those who want to see the games.....will. Period.

Wrong. There are plenty of meaningful games on the NFL Network.

well, they went through the entire hour, and nobody asked Gary bettman about the fact that both games were at the same time 2nite.

I emailed them, but they didnt read any emails.

In the Slot with Mike ross and Phil Espisito is next on XM

Tonight millions of Canadians across the cuntry will be watching NHL playoff hockey.
After the game they might enjoy some legal online gambling or prostitution, things
Americans can only dream of.

Maybe not this issue, but the NHL is pretty screwed with it's marketing. Southern USA isn't working.
Europe is the ticket.
