There is a "Lingerie Football League" ?
I'm not going to rip it. I like lingerie and I like football - so who's to say this isn't the second coming of peanut butter + chocolate = Reese's.
But can these girls block and tackle in their lingerie?
MYFOX NATIONAL) - Young women in Miami are trading in their football uniforms for lingerie. The ladies are hoping to land a spot on the Miami Caliente, the latest Lingerie Football League team in the country.
The team held a one-day mini-camp and media day Monday in Sunrise, Fla.
These girls are proving that it's not just about looks. They hit the gridiron running through several offensive and defensive drills.
"I can throw a football in a bra and panties," said Franchesca Bierstaker, who was trying out for the team.
"This is what we call our football combine, the NFL has it as well," said Mitchell Mortaza, founder of the Lingerie Football League. "Beauty is only skin deep, you could see that right there. But then you have to see if these girls are athletic, are they confident?"
Asked if she can play football, Bierstaker responded, "I could throw a ball, and I think I can catch, running is a little difficult. But I could definitely throw a football."
How about running in lingerie? "I think I could do anything in lingerie," she said.
Experts say the Caliente are an early favorite to advance to the LFL's Eastern Conference playoffs. Their first game is Sept. 4 in Chicago against the Chicago Bliss squad. The home opener will be Nov. 13 against the New York Majesty at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise.
