Flight School

I have graduated college last year, and still havent landed a job worth anything, thinking about further my skills...

I am thinking about flight school? What are yalls thoughts?

Has anyone every done it? Do you know anyone that has?

What kind of cost can I expect? Is there tutition assistance?

What do you intend to accomplish? Airlines ect.

In most cases your best way is through the military. If your grades are good you could get in to flight school.

No where else can you get the training and hours to get the top jobs, unless you are a millionare, in which case you dont need a job.

Solid Advice

If you're talking about becoming an airline pilot (even cargo) that takes YEARS and a lot of money, ton of flight hours = $$$. Plus, it's HARD! It can take you multiple years just to pass your IFR exams, very difficult (basically learn how to fly a plane without any windows, just the instruments). You're much better off in the military. Or, if you just want to be in aviation, you could lean to be a flight traffic controller, huge money in that.

Seems to me that Helicopters would be easier to break into and have more commercial job oppo's coming out. Traffic, resort tours, charters, fire fighting, logging, emergency transport, crane services, VIP transport, etc.

I'm sorry to tell you that you don't just go to flight school and then land a job. Flying jobs are extremely competetive and difficult.

Go see your local AF recruiter and tell him/her you want to fly. If you have a college degree you can apply for OTS and then try and become a pilot. If you don't make the cut you can always fly as a Nav.
