do not leave out Derby starters...

there has only been one Preakness in at least the last 50 years where a Derby runner was not part of the Preakness exacta..and that year the derby winner for example skipped the PReakness totally..

the derby horses are the ones to key on and play and box and wheel

dont leave them off your ticket no matter what....

Not exactly going on a limb here, but I like either the 2, 7, or 9 to win todays race.

Big Drama for the win! And thanks for the note. I have Friesan Fire or Pioneer in all my trifecta boxes.

Exacta box 3/13 Musket Man and Rachel Alexandra and root like hell for the 3 to win the race for the much bigger price...

Mind that Bird despite a rough trip ran a heck of a race to grab Place money over my horse Musket Man.

Congrats to all Rachel Alexandra backers..

Greenhead, the stat said that anyone that ran in the derby would be part of the exacta. So may sure that you use them.

An interesting but meaningless stat. This year, seven Derby starters ran in the Preakness so even if you bet them all, in each of the exacta spots, with the winner you would have spent $28 and received $39.20 back. Nowhere near worth the risk.

stat was not too useful becasue exacta only paid $40 and to cover rachel and all the derby starters both ways you would not have made much..and leave out rachel and you got nothing...if rachel was not in the race sure we have an easy exacta and tri..so yes the streak continues and its an amazing streak but not much of a $$$ maker this year...
