if they run him , he wins the belmont..

he would have won today if he didnt have to run around every other horse. they kept him off the rail

Anybody doubt this horse will win the Belmont? Another 1/16 and he beats the filly.

I would be suprised if he or Rachel Alex run in the Belmont..But I agree he will be a favorite or close to it if he runs

Today, yes. But don't forget that Calvin said she did not take to the surface and still won. Short prices for both on Belmont day if they both run.

The rail was closed, he tried to move on the rail, but these guys were going to let that happen again..

Smith shouldn't be blamed.

If you watch the replay from the blimp angle, you will see that Smith actually gave a solid ride.

Smith gave him a great ride a great ride. Another 40 yards and he takes her. He changed leads when he pulled up at the 3/4 pole and had to go around. The filly may or may not have liked the surface only she knows that. The Bird has been running on that shity synthytic track at Ruidosa and i'm surprised he takes to the dirt.

How can anyone fault Smith's ride. You can't be serious. He ran into a super filly. It happens.

Go ahead and take Mind That Bird if you think after that hard of a run like the last two races that he has another big race like that left in him. Also the biggest misconception in horse racing is thinking a fast closer has a better chance in a longer race. Very seldom does that ring true.

he is what he is .......a solid late runner.......he needs the race to fall his way.......if it does he is a gladiator.........if the race doesnt go his way he is a footnote.......but i do applaud his efforts in both races

5 pound advantage for the filly plus the longer distance Bird had to travel cost the Derby champ. A great closer Bird is, a super filly Rachel is.
Other great closers in triple crown races were Amberoid & the Ribot colt who ran down Majestic Prince in the Belmont.
