but obviously, LB is/was the better all-around player and a forward, not a shooting guard.

Still, had to look this stat up tonight just out of boredom/interest.........Allen is a remarkable 3pt shooter.

Other stats

Bird has 8974 rebounds to Allens 4181
Bird has 5605 assists to Allens 3545
Bird has 1556 steals to Allens 1140
Bird has 21791 points to Allens 19661

Thinking about this, somewhat amazed that Bird only made 649 3pt shots.

I betcha you ask 100 sports fans in a bar and 90+ would guess he had more than that.

The thing is it's the Celtics and they are eliminated, so nobody gives a rats ass in the grand scheme of things.

One reason too is that Bird played in an era when I believe 3 point shooting wasn't as prevalent as it is today.

If Bird had played the same time period as Allen I think the numbers would be closer.

Allen made the majority of his 3pt FG's not wearing a Celtic uniform.

Bird only made 649 because he only attempted 1727. Allen has attempted 4,050 more three point shots then Bird did in his career. As an overall player Bird is light years ahead of Allen.
