YTD: 1-4 (-4.82)
Tough night last night, as Giants blow the lead in the bottom of the 9th, bringing down the big play..2 for tonight that I am liking..Will be back with the 2nd play later..
3* Detroit Tigers (-142)
Tigers come into tonight's game, on a 6 game win streak, and play at home where they are 14-5 on the year. Historically great in Inter-league play, Detroit boasts a 42-12 record over the last 3 seasons in Inter-league games, and during that stretch, they are 22-5 in Comerica Park against N.L. opponents! While Detroit has been great in Inter-league games, Colorado is 2-11 in Inter-league play, when graded as a dog, a spot they find themselves in again tonight. Colorado is a sub par 16-24 on the year, and we will do good to notice a drop off in most statistical categories when Rockies are on the road. Average runs per game is down, bullpen ERA is up, etc. Tigers on the other hand, show a significant boost in stats when playing at home, Runs per game up almost 1.1 to their average, bullpen ERA down significantly etc. Rockies will be sending Jimenez to the mound tonight, who has been very good of late, going 2-1 with a 1.35 ERA in his last 3 starts. However, he was 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA, with a 3.00 WHIP against Detroit in his lone start against the Tigers. If Jimenez has been good his last 3 starts, Tiger's pitcher Rick Porcello has been great as of late. He is 3-0 with a 1.00 ERA in his last 3 starts, so not too worried about the pitching matchup in this one. Bottom line is simple, my money will be with the better and hotter team right now, playing at home where they play their best baseball...BOL to everyone tonight
