I posted this earlier in the week and now with the Schoeneweis thing got be tough.

On a future note I was watching the Marlins game last night and they were talking about how the Dbacks will fly from south Fla to Oakland and will be staying in S.F. and will be crossing the Bay Bridge at 8 to 9 oclock in the morning during commute traffic to check into their hotel.

Sounds like a night of hell to me.

I've always found that has more effect in the second game of the series.

OK gonna go under 9.5 seems a bit inflated for this park and these two teams.

The high ERA's does not scare me and they both traveled from Fla. last night/this morning.

The A's have the third-worst offense in the American League, averaging 4.36 runs per game.

Giambi is hitting just .198 with three home runs. 2B Mark Ellis and 3B Eric Chavez are on the disabled list.

The A's bullpen is third in the league with a 3.41 ERA. The starting rotation has been hit or miss, as the A's are relying on young pitchers such as right-hander Trevor Cahill and left-hander Brett Anderson, whom the Diamondbacks sent to Oakland in the Dan Haren deal.

The Diamondbacks entered Thursday second-to-last in the National League in batting (.235) and third-to-last in runs.

Trevor Cahill, a rookie, throws a lively sinkerball that has drawn comparisons to that of Diamondbacks RHP Brandon Webb and Braves RHP Derek Lowe. Cahill has had two outings in which he has not escaped the third inning, allowing seven runs in both games, but has been solid in his other six starts

Billy Buckner is getting his first opportunity to start a game in the majors since he was acquired by the Diamondbacks in December 2007 in a deal with Kansas City for 2B Alberto Callaspo. He has had 13 appearances pitching out of the Diamondbacks bullpen the past couple of seasons, posting a 3.21 ERA in 14 innings last year and giving up seven runs in four innings in three appearances this season. He was optioned to Triple-A Reno on April 14 and has pitched well in the Aces' rotation in his past three starts, allowing three earned runs in 16 1/3 innings.
