This is getting way out of hand where I live. I passed about ten cars the other day and every one was using there cell phone (Note NY State has a law against this as well). A few weeks ago I'm behind a truck that was all over the place. Sure enough I get up next to him and he is texting. About a month ago we had two teenagers die in a horrific accident. The cause was they were texting their friends in the car behind them and crossed into the other lane into a truck and died instantly. I'm one of the older guys here and of coarse I have a cell phone but my god can't people just drive and turn the darn thing off until they arrive at their destination or at least pull over. I have seen so many close calls on the highway because of this just in the last year or so. What is it like where you live and are their laws prohibiting the use of cell phones in your area??
Well this doesnt have to do with road vehicles. But a conductor on the mass transit underground railway slammed a trolley car into a stopped trolly car while texting a few weeks ago. Injuring 50 people.
As a result the MBTA employees may no longer use texting devices or cell phones.
