This is getting way out of hand where I live. I passed about ten cars the other day and every one was using there cell phone (Note NY State has a law against this as well). A few weeks ago I'm behind a truck that was all over the place. Sure enough I get up next to him and he is texting. About a month ago we had two teenagers die in a horrific accident. The cause was they were texting their friends in the car behind them and crossed into the other lane into a truck and died instantly. I'm one of the older guys here and of coarse I have a cell phone but my god can't people just drive and turn the darn thing off until they arrive at their destination or at least pull over. I have seen so many close calls on the highway because of this just in the last year or so. What is it like where you live and are their laws prohibiting the use of cell phones in your area??

We had a terrible train wreck last year where the engineer was
texting killing over 50 people on an Amtrack .
Stupid a-hole missed his turn off.

In Ontario, where I live, they passed a law banning use of cellphones while driving... I think that should be instigated everywhere.

It really is just a matter of time. I believe texting is 10 times the problem.

I have seen idiots reading a book, people cutting fingernails and doing all kinds of bs.

I would text on my cell while driving if I wasn't busy eating my cheeseburger, holding my drink between my legs, reading the newspaper at stoplights, and changing the radio dial to avoid hearing advertising spots.

Have not heard of that law being passed yet, just the new 12 hour impaired laws. Burners can charge phone users with a careless if they feel so.

More and more laws dictating every last detail of your life is great, if you don't mind living in a police state. I would prefer choices and freedom. But that's just me.
